OUR STORY

Sometime in the mid 80’s a man by the name of Emile Legacy was working part time at a local wine and brew shop, he then had a vision of what could be a way of life for his family.

Serving New Brunswick as an insurance adjuster for much of his life, he was no stranger to customer service and decided the home wine and beer maker deserved another option for high quality products and services.

In early 1988 he opened  E&L Wine and Brew Outlet in a strip mall on Elmwood Dr.
In the early 90’s he then built a duplex at 62 Morton Ave to reduce his overhead allowing to keep fair market prices for the high quality products and services he supplied to many of his customers throughout the Maritime Provinces.

Emile was a pioneer in the the home wine and beer making industry and a strong advocate to what has become the brew on premise business model in Moncton and  Maritimes, petitioning local leaders and governments for regulations to permit customers to have their products manufactured in a retail setting. He also envisioned the advantage to the local economies by employing people with vast experience and expertise, many were older-semi retired and retired men and women to aid people in making their very own wine and beer in a facility designed for optimal results.

Emile employed his brother in law Dave Warren in the mid 90’s and has been the face of the shop ever since. His calm demeanour, being a people person combined with his customer service experience has made him an undeniable asset to the customers and industry he serves.

The location of E&L Wine and Brew Outlet went from Morton Ave to Elmwood Dr in 2010 up until this past September 2020. Thanks to the hard work of Gordon and Danica at Atlantic Commercial Properties E&L now has a new home compromised of nearly 6800 sq ft.

With our vast inventory and business contacts developed over three decades, if we don’t have it in stock we’ll do our best to source it.
